Basic Expert Witness Training

Training Objective

This training is intended for individuals with at least 5 years of professional experience and aims to provide them with fundamental, theoretical, and practical knowledge regarding the conduct of expert witnessing activities.

Target Audience

Members of any profession with at least 5 years of professional seniority may apply for this training.

Application Documents

• 1 Passport-size Photograph
• Photocopy of ID Card
• Registration Form (Annex-4) 
• Document proving at least 5 years of professional seniority (Social Security Service Record)
• Graduation Certificate
• Please carefully read the Additional Information section at the bottom of the page during application.
• Together with the application documents, in line with the link given in the Additional Information section regarding Expert Witnessing Specialization and Sub-Specialization areas, determine the areas suitable for you, and scan or photograph a petition stating your profession, the specialization area(s) in which you can work as an expert witness, and how many years you have been in the profession, and send it to our e-mail address.

Certificate Information

Participants who meet the attendance requirements and, provided that they meet the conditions stated in the Expert Witnessing Regulation and in the announcements published by the Judicial Commission Presidencies regarding expert witness recruitment, will be able to work as expert witnesses with the certificate of participation and the training received.

COURSE SCHEDULE

Additional Information

Attendance is compulsory for the Basic Expert Witness Training courses.

Participants who do not attend 1/12 of the total course hours will be dismissed from the program and no fee refunds will be made.

The training will last for 4 days.

The requirements for becoming an expert witness are explained by the Expert Witness Department in the Expert Witnessing Regulation and the Expert Witnessing Law.

Expert Witnessing Main Specialization Areas

DPÜSEM has no responsibility or obligation to check whether participants meet the conditions specified in the Expert Witnessing Law and the Expert Witnessing Regulation. It is the participant’s own responsibility to follow the law, the regulation, and the specialization areas.

Application for Expert Witnessing and Registration in the Registry 

To be a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye,
Not to have been convicted of an intentional crime,
Not to have any affiliation or connection with terrorist organizations,
Not to have been dismissed from a profession or public office for disciplinary reasons,
Not to have been previously removed from the expert witnessing registry or banned from acting as an expert witness,

To have successfully completed the basic expert witness training,
For basic expert witness training applications, pursuant to Article 38/f of the Expert Witnessing Regulation, it is mandatory to have “worked for at least 5 years in the specialization area in which expert witnessing will be performed.”
